NEW SPBO VISITOR CENTER
Some of the main benefits that the new Environmental Education and Culture Center, San Pancho Bird Observatory, will bring annually:
More than 2000 local, national and international visitors.
Inclusive approach with specialized materials for silent, blind and disabled people.
Provide the opportunity to observe, listen and record. the more than 300 species of wild birds registered in San Pancho.
Link with other conservation projects in the region.
Share at least 300 bird checklists on the citizen science platform ebird.org
In recent years, the San Pancho Bird Observatory has had a site to develop its projects and to house bird watchers, students, and researchers who collaborate with our organization.
Currently our facilities are insufficient to allow optimal growth of the organization. In addition, the high cost of maintenance means that the existing infrastructure is at risk of not being able to continue being used if major repair and prevention actions are not carried out, for which we are projecting the expansion of our facilities to create a new "San Pancho Bird Observatory Center for Environmental Education and Culture".
This site will allow us to provide more and better opportunities for education and development of skills and knowledge for local people as well as for tourism.
Thank you for your partnership with our conservation efforts!
